Hola! As you may have ascertained from the domain of my blog my name is Jacob Hackl. Yes, you can call me Jake.
What I do
During the day and often late into the evenings I design, architect, and develop software systems through my consulting business JD Laboratories which I opened in 2004. Most of my clients are in the Twin Cities but there are a few others smattered around the US. With JD Labs, I’ve done everything from: doing architecture / design with off-shored teams, leading local teams at client-sites, software and team assessments, vendor selection, to doing solo development and my clients have been Fortune 500 to the micro-startup. What I love most about my job is learning a domain and generating designs that express them in software. Areas where I tend to spend most of my time these days are in the .NET space where I’m currently spending much of time with the MVC framework. Feel free to find me on LinkedIn or Twitter (@jacobhackl).

Who I am
Work is an extension of the life I try to live which is focused on positive energy, passion, integrity, and humor. The other stuff includes enjoying my excellent neighborhood in south Mpls (Hale, Page, Diamond Lake), where I run with these guys. Once in a while I do some poetry or writing (not on here though). An ideal day is to have a good lunch, read my current book and go for a walk my Airedale Betty with my excellent wife.
Thanks for stopping by,
Jake
